I cannot believe our little girl will be 7 weeks old tomorrow! The time has truly flown by, but has been a time of excitement, joy and true blessings.

Leighann's fifth week was so much fun! We cannot believe how fast she is growing and developing. She will be 6 weeks old this coming Tuesday, August 25th. I took Leighann to go visit her daddy at work on Tuesday and that was so much fun. Everyone at his office enjoyed getting to meet her, and it was fun for me to take her there by myself for the first time. I picked up Chili's-to-go and surprised Tony with that for lunch and we enjoyed that time together. Leighann has also started to hold her head up a little more every day, spent a lot of time enjoying her swing, starting to focus more and more, cooing some and just loving being a spoiled little blessing! Just this afternoon she looked at her brother and sisters (the 2 cats and 2 dogs) and smiled! It was priceless! Thursday evening Marlan and Darlene, Leighann's Uncle and Aunt from Kansas came to visit for the weekend. We had a fun weekend with them going to the mall, out to eat, farmers market and watching nascar together. Us girls went shopping at Gymboree and had so much fun going through all the adorable clothes and I got some more for her. Can't wait to take pics of her in all her new cute things! It was a fun weekend. This coming week will be very busy. Time with Meredith, Lesley, taking church directory pictures, going for my postpartum doctors appointment and maybe going looking for a new family vehicle My car is a little on the small side for traveling so we may be getting a new one! I cannot believe our little girl is already a month old. My goodness, how the time flys by. It seems like just yesterday that we held her for the first time. She is such a blessing and truly a good baby. She is sleeping about 3-4 hours at a time at night and still eating about the same amount of formula. She is beginning to hold her head up and look around, hold our hands and fingers (sooo cute!), look at us more clearly, pet the animals (yeah, with our help of course!) and so many other little things that bring us joy! Hope you all enjoyed the pics from this past week.

Four Weeks Old!!!

I cannot believe our little girl will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. We have enjoyed many things together this past week: Grandma visiting and helping out so much, Grandpa visiting for the weekend (and had to take Grandma home :(), Tummy Time mat fun, visits from Great Uncle Ricky and Great Aunt Jackie, visits from Russell and Meredith, Lesley and Carson and our sweet neighbor Jenna. We also got to go to church for the first time and she did so well. It was great to be in the Lord's house as a family and to worship our loving and gracious God together. Leighann is sleeping about 3 hours a time at night and about an hour or so at a time during the day. She is beginning to hold her head up a little on her own, loves looking at her bassinet mobile, and is loving smiling at her mommy and daddy. Enjoy the week in review of pics!

Leighann's First Photo Shoot (July 31, 2009)

Jona came over last night and did such an amazing job with Leighann's first photo shoot. I appreciate her so much for doing this for us! It was so much fun to be together, have my mom here to enjoy the photo shoot and for Tony and I to have these memories! Here they are! Enjoy the pictures and thanks again Jona! Leighann is doing really well. She is up to 7lb 1oz as of her doctors appointment last Wednesday (July 29,2009). Her skin tag fell off of her ear beautifully and the cord stump came off right before her 2 week doctor appointment. She is eating well (up to 3 3/4 oz every 3 hours) and is such a beautiful blessing!!

I cannot believe Leighann is going to be two weeks old tomorrow! I wanted to share some pictures and special milestone moments with you all that we have enjoyed the past two weeks. Leighann Grace is such a blessing and we are so thankful to have her in our lives! She is doing really well. She weighed in a 6 pounds, 8 ounces at her last doctors appointment (last Thursday). She is 19 3/4 inches long as of today! She is beginning to hold her head up a little on her own, trying to hold her bottle and pacifier, making eye contact with us, and starting to smile at us (or probably having gas!!). She is sleeping 3 hours at a time at night and about 2 during the day between her feedings and awake time with her mommy and daddy. Daddy had to go back to work today, but Grandma is here for a little while. As far as I go with the c-section recovery, it is slow but going rather well. I am just having to really pace myself, but loving my maternity leave with my little girl! Leighann loves her bassinet and is starting to sit in her bouncer (pink boppy which is so awesome to have!). Congratulations Amy and Tony! This is Meredith on Amy's blog. Leighann Grace Talbert was born at 7:54 this morning and weighed 6 lbs 12 oz. She is a beautiful baby GIRL!

So sorry it has been such a long time since an update. It is absolutely amazing to me how fast time flies by these days. I am officially 21 1/2 weeks today and we found out about 2 weeks ago that we are going to be blessed with a little girl, Leighann Grace Talbert. We were so thankful that the ultrasound shows a healthy and growing baby. Lately I have been enjoying getting little girl things in my favorite colors pink and brown! We purchased the bedding set in pink and brown polka dots and it is absolutely precious. Now we just have to start decorating the room. Any ideas??

We are finishing up our registries at the Baby's Room in Rogers and also Babies R Us and Target. I think those are really fun places to register at and they have nice things.

Since my last post there has been a lot going on. We made a trip down to South Arkansas for the funeral of my best friends father and my cousins father-in-law. Jerry was truly a remarkable man and known for his genuine spirit, loving heart, and his Christ like nature. He will be missed greatly and I ask all of you to continue to lift up the Jordan family in your prayers during this time.

I have also been busy planning upcoming events at the church for choir, children's choir and praise team. We have our mid-week lenten services every Wednesday night of lent and those are going so well. The theme is "Shalom-Peace" and how Christ constantly expressed peace in the scriptures and also in our day to day lives. Easter will be here before I know it, so I have been busy preparing services and leading the various groups. It is truly wonderful to be a part of such a growing, outreach ministry.

In the midst of all the times in all of our lives, God is with us. Peace be with you all.

Ice Storm 2009

Man, Northwest Arkansas really got hit hard by this ice storm. There are over 120,000 people without electricity and I am so thankful that we have been so fortunate to have electricity through the entire event. It all started Monday evening and is starting to melt today finally, but a lot of people are having even worse damage now from the icicles melting and toppling trees down on their homes and property. Keep all of NWA and the entire area in your prayers.

On another note, I am SO EXCITED that we are headed north this weekend to Kansas to visit Tony's family. It has been forever since we have been there and we really love spending time with them, when we can. I know it will be a lot of fun. Next week, we are headed to South Arkansas, as Tony has to work down there and I am going to work remotely from there as well and spend time with my grandparents. That will be a good time as well. During next week we are having some renovations done to our home. The nursery is getting painted, our bedroom is getting painted and we are getting new hardwood laminate flooring put down in the living room, hallways and closet. I am super excited about this, and especially to see the beginnings of our little ones nursery.

I am almost 15 weeks and 6 days, so almost 16 weeks. I go for a check-up Monday and then get to make the appointment for the big ultrasound where we find out the big question, BOY OR GIRL? Right now I have a hunch it is a boy, but that is just me! I am really starting to show now and so I went to Motherhood Maternity in the Promenade and my parents gave me some money and I got 3 new shirts and a belly band to start using. They have really nice things, and I got Tony a book, "So You're Going to Be a Dad". I also got some lotion and other personal items, along with the preggie drops/pops. They have really helped with the morning sickness!

14 Weeks and a long needed update

Today as I ponder back past the few weeks, I am filled with thanksgiving that our little bundle of joy is doing so well. I have been back to the doctor 3 times since my last post and baby Talbert is doing well. January 7th we heard the heartbeat on the doppler monitor for the first time and that was truly a miracle and blessing to hear. We saw our baby through the ultrasound two times before that, at 6 weeks, and at 8 weeks. I have been so busy lately and apologize for now posting any sooner. I plan on updating once a week from here on out. Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's. Ours was great. We spent Christmas Eve at church all day with 3 separate services, that all went well and spent Christmas with my family here in Bella Vista. A few highlights of our Christmas together was: going to see Marley and me (truly an amazing movie, but so sad at the end), opening presents for the future Talbert, being together, Tony's cooking (yes, my husband is a wonderful cook), and family time. New Year's Eve was fun here at our hous with our good friend Russell and Meredith (family and friends all in one), their little dog Belle, and my other friends from church Lesley and Carson. We watched Mama Mia and, of course watched the ball drop. For New Years, I hung out with my good friend Lesley at the mall and we went to see Four Christmases, which was hilarious. Our next doctors appointment is in the beginning of February. We will find out if we are having a little boy or little girl in 5 weeks (I can't wait!!!). The journey of going to three doctors, and finding out that I may never be able to have children and now having a child grow inside me is so amazing. My doctor is wonderful and she is a blessing to have there beside me the whole way. She is actually the same doctor that delivered the Duggar's (you should check out their show on TLC- 18 kids, CRAZY) last three children. The official due date is July 19th! I know I will be able to spend a few weeks at home with the baby, and then will need to return to work, but I am so excited that our baby will be able to have childcare right at the preschool that is in the church that I work at! That will be a huge blessing because I can go check on him/her throughout the day and still be able to work too! Well, that is all I have for an update for today, but will be updating a lot more regular in the coming weeks. Happy New Year and blessings to you all!

Check-up and Thanksgiving Blessings

Tony and I went in to the female doctor Friday afternoon and I did a lot of blood work and a few other tests'. We have not heard back from those yet, but trust everything is okay. I have been having a LOT of morning sickness throughout the day and continually tired with some mild cramping, but I am so THANKFUL for this opportunity. God has truly blessed us and we are so thankful for family and new beginnings this Thanksgiving holiday season. I bought the book "What to Expect When You are Expecting" and look forward to reading that in the coming weeks. A few nights ago we got two "onesies" for our baby. We got one that says "My First Christmas" with a cute stocking on it that could be for a boy or girl and another one that talks about Santa and grandparents. It was really cute too. I wonder how many outfits we will have by the time he/she comes into this world! As of last Friday, our little bundle of joy is due July 6, 2008! We will have our first ultrasound where we get to see our baby and hear his/her heartbeat December 8th. Please keep us in your prayers during these last few weeks of the crucial first trimester. I hope that everyone will enjoy their time with family and friends during this Thanksgiving week. Let us all pause for a moment in the hussle and bustle, to remember all the gifts that God has given to each of us. We take so much for granted. God bless you all and Happy Thanksgiving.

Tony and Amy "plus one"

Wow is the first word that comes to my mind as I am starting this blog today. Just yesterday Tony and I were going about our day to day hectic lives and thinking that it was not our time to conceive a child naturally and we were having our hopes set on adopting in the near future. To my GREAT surprise, I decided that I would need to take the two dreaded preggo tests' to see if indeed it was negative, like it has been other times. I just said a prayer and asked God to give us the comfort that we needed in going through the tests' yet again. Much to my surprise the white and purple "Equate/trusty Wal-Mart brand" test said positive. Tony had just gotten into the bed and I went in there and said "You will not be able to comprehend this but it is positive. We both were shaking all over and I was crying because I was really deep down scared it was a misread. So about 30 minutes later I went back to the bathroom and tried the second one. Positive AGAIN! Well, we thought that we may really be pregnant this time, but were still of the mindset that the home pregnancy tests' may or may not be truly accurate. I could not sleep at all, but for 2 and a half hours. But this morning we went to Well-Quest, the most awesome clinic in NW Arkansas and Misty the Nurse Practitioner asked me my symptoms and said I definitely needed to take a test. I was so scared as I went into their laboratory restroom, but luckily the test was finished and the waiting began. We waited, and we waited, and we waited for her to come back in the room and indeed she did. She had the test in a ziploc bag for us and had a huge smile and said "Congratulations, you are going to be a mom and dad". We all cried together in total awe of the surprise that had literally struck us speechless. Tony and I were just, and still are truly amazed. I had all the symptoms, but thought I would not be able to conceive a child because of the PCOS. Well, then the fun began! First, we drove to Tony's work and dropped him off for the day and I then got into the driver's seat (sorry so much detail) and called Pastor Erik, my dear pastor that just recently accepted a call in Nebraska. I just needed to tell him first. He was so excited for us and it was just great to get to hear his voice and chat for a bit. Then, I got to go into the office and tell my best friend Lesley and other co-worker friends and they were all truly shocked and excited. The next fun part came when I called my other best friend Meredith and she was substituting so had to be so quiet. It was so fun to hear her though because she was literally shrieking into the telephone, but had to be quiet so she wouldn't get in trouble. She was so happy, and is so happy. Speaking of Mer and Russell, they have a new puppy that is a precious addition to their family as well! Well, here I sit still in awe of the many, MANY blessings God has given to Tony and I. We will get the true joy of calling my parents and calling his family members. I already got teary knowing that Tony will not get to verbally or physically tell his parents that he is going to be a father, and a wonderful one at that, but we have the confidence that they are in Heaven with our true Father and watching after us, and I'm sure that they are truly watching over us now, and are so happy for us and our new little one. I have a fun way of telling my parents. My dad is picking up a package at Family Christian Stores this evening I called him about and I told him that it is a "gift for someone" and not to open it until I told them where it needed to go. So, when Tony gets off work and comes over here to the church for choir we are going to call them as they open the package that will be a Willow Tree Grandmother and Grandfather and then I found the most awesome book called "For this Child I Prayed". I know that will be a memorable moment. We just ask for your prayers for a healthy child and that everything goes smoothly. I am due in early July (which will be around my birthday, my mom's b-day, our anniversary and my grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary). I am going to the OBGYN Friday afternoon for my first appointment. The dr. at Wellquest thinks I am 6-8 weeks along already! God is awesome!
